Bush, Blair Found Guilty of War Crimes 23 Nov 2011 A War Crimes Tribunal in Malaysia has found former US President [sic] George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair guilty of war crimes for their roles in the Iraq war, Press TV reports. The five-panel Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal decided that Bush and Blair committed genocide and crimes against humanity by leading the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a Press TV correspondent reported on Tuesday. The Malaysian tribunal judges ruled that the decision to wage war against Iraq by the two former heads of government was a flagrant abuse of law and an act of aggression that led to large-scale massacres of the Iraqi people.

Hacker group Anonymous targets pepper-spraying UC Davis cop 22 Nov 2011 The UC Davis police officer filmed casually pepper-spraying passive student protesters is the latest target of the computer hacking collective Anonymous. A new 10-minute video attributed to the "hacktivist" group threatens the officer directly and makes public his personal contact information - including his cell phone number and an alleged home address. "Dear Officer John Pike, we are Anonymous. Your information is now public domain," a computer-generated voice narrating the Anonymous video states. "Expect our full wrath," the voice continues as viral video of the Friday incident plays in the background. "Anonymous seeks to avenge all protesters…We are going to make you squeal like a pig."

University to pay medical bills of pepper spray victims 23 Nov 2011 University of California officials said Tuesday they will pay the medical expenses of students who were pepper sprayed during an Occupy Davis protest last week. Authorities have also decided to drop charges against 10 people who were arrested during the Friday protest on the campus of UC Davis. The American Bankers Association confirmed to MSNBC that it got the memo but that it was unsolicited and that they haven't acted on it.

US to install new Bahraini king: Report 23 Nov 2011 The US [Nosey Parker] administration is reportedly planning to replace the Bahraini ruler, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, over his failure to end months of protests in the country. According to a report published by Islam Times, Washington has urged King Hamad to restore peace and stability to the country by end of 2011 even at the price of his resignation. The report also says that Washington wants to replace King Hamad with a Sunni ruler upon agreement with Saudi Arabia.

Guantanamo authorities reading attorney-client mail, lawyers say 01 Nov 2011 Lawyers representing detainees prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, say authorities at the military base have begun reading privileged attorney-client communication - in a sharp break with past practice. Legal mail is the principal means of communication between detainees charged in military tribunals and their military defense attorneys,who are based in the Washington area. In a letter Tuesday, nine of the attorneys wrote to William K. Lietzau, deputy assistant secretary of defense for rule of law and detainee policy, to object to authorities reading their mail to clients at the detention center. They asked that the commander at Guantanamo Bay be ordered to "cease and desist the seizure, opening, translating, reading and reviewing of attorney-client privileged communications."
