[PF:173026] After US, Pakistan considered biggest threat to world peace

24% people round the globe consider US currently the biggest threat to world peace.

In a 2013 global survey conducted by Worldwide Independent Network/Gallup, the public perception of United States saved Pakistan the embarrassment of being labeled the biggest threat to world peace today.

24% of the world believes America represents the biggest threat to peace. In comparison, only 8% believe it is Pakistan, which is closely followed by neighbours China (6%), and Afghanistan (5%) and Iran (5%).

Citizens from arch-rival India, which is ranked at eight, may have had a large role in Pakistan's dismal ranking, though, considering 15% of the world's population lives there.

As for US, the results were not all that surprising considering their awkward history of controversial political and military interventions round the globe. 13% Americans considered their own country the biggest threat to peace.

WIN/Gallup, which calls itself "the leading association in market research and polling" is made up of 77 independent market research and polling firms that WIN/Gallup claims to cover 95% of the world's market.

The 37th annual 'End of Year Survey' of the association is defined as "a global study that collects the public's view on the challenges that the world faces today". It is supposed to be a reflection of the thoughts and behaviours of the population from 65 countries around the world.

With respect to the average global population, the bigger findings from the 2013 survey reveal:

  • Despite a year of economic difficulty, almost 50% of people surveyed are more positive about 2014 than they were for 2013
  • US, Canada and Australia are the countries where most people would like to live if they could
  • US is considered to be the greatest threat to peace in the world, followed by Pakistan and China
  • Over a third of those surveyed believe the world would be a better place if there were more female politicians
  • Now in its 37th year WIN/Gallup International End of Year Survey finds that since 1989 people in general have a more positive outlook on economic prosperity for the coming year

http://xpresstribune.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/0023.jpg

Source: WIN/Gallup International

Win/Gallup interviewed 67,806 people in total, in 65 countries either face-to-face, by telephone on online, between September and December 2013.

The margin or error is +/- 3.5%.

The global average was calculated according to the share of the covered adult population of the surveyed countries.

Pakistan

The survey's Pakistan profile records answers provided by 2000 Pakistanis for each the following questions:

Q1. As far as you are concerned, do you think that 2014 will be better, worse or the same as 2013?

41% Pakistanis think the coming year will be better than 2013, with 24% saying it will be worse, 31% saying there will be no difference and the rest being indifferent/no answer.

Q2. Compared to this year, in your opinion, will next year be a year of economic prosperity, economic difficulty or remain the same for your country?

33% were optimistic for prosperity, 30% expected it to be a more difficult year while 30% said it will be more or less the same.

Q3. In general, do you personally feel happy, unhappy or neither happy nor unhappy about your life?

While 44% were happy with their lives, 16% were unhappy and 37% felt they were neither happy nor unhappy.

Q4. If there were no barriers to living in any country of the world, which country would you like to live in?

30% — the highest percentage — of Pakistanis said they would like to live in Saudi Arabia. 11% opted for United Arab Emirates while 6% wished to live in America.

22% Pakistanis said they were happy where they were and would not want to move anywhere else.

Q5. If politicians were predominantly women, do you believe the world would in general be a better place, a worse place or no different?

29% Pakistanis thought a majority of women politicians would make the world a better place, with 33% saying it would become worse. 22% of the people surveyed were of the opinion that it would not make a difference.

Q6. Which country do you think is the greatest threat to peace in the world today?

2 out of 2000 Pakistanis opined that Pakistan was currently the greatest threat to peace in the world.

A daunting 44% of the subjects said the US was the greatest threat, with 15% going for India and 13% for Israel.

Saudi Arabia was not on the list.

[karachi-Friends] Daily Qur'an & Hadith 01 Jan 2014 (28 Safar 1435)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[27].Surah Al-Naml [The Ants]

Ayat 60. Is not Allah (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby Allah cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!

Tafseer of Surah Al Naml (The Ants) Ayat 60. Or, Who has created the heavens and the earth, and Who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. (Can there be another) god besides Allah. Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice. The order, beauty, and grandeur of the universe are appealed to. They show unity of design and purpose. How can unjust, ignorant, foolish, heedless, false men think of a multiplicity of gods, or of any god besides the One True God? To make a single seed germinate and grow into a tree is beyond man's power. When it comes to a great well-laid-out garden of beauty and delight, no one would think it grew up of itself without a gardener's consummate art. And the orchard is more than the trees in it: there is design and beauty in their arrangement; proper spaces have to be left between them for the growth of their roots, for the aeration of the soil beneath them, and for the penetration of air and sunlight between their branches. How can anyone then think of the wonderful universe as a whole, without thinking of the far higher Unity of Design, the evidence of the One True Allah?

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) took hold of my hand and said, "Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created the earth on Saturday, the mountains on Sunday, the trees on Monday, the things entailing labour on Tuesday, light on Wednesday, He spread out animals of all kinds on Thursday, and created Adam in the afternoon on Friday, and it was the last hour of Friday between the afternoon and the night.''

[Muslim Hadith # 6707].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Naml Ayat 60. “whereby Allah cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. What does "Day'' mean, and how long can it be? Its reality only Allah knows. We observe a day of 24 hours. However, the days of the formation of the universe are evidently different from our earthly days. According to the Arabic language, a day may mean just a moment, but also aeons (age) of time. In the Qur'an also, Allah has mentioned that a `day' may be of one thousand or fifty thousand years.

Re: [PF:173024] The Sacred Knowledge of AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida Khan al-Baraylawi (Alayhir Rahmah)

The Great Imaam and Mujaddid, Sayyiduna AlaHadrat Imam Ahmad Rida al-Qadiri (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) was only 4 years old when he completed the recitation of the Holy Qur'an. Due to the extraordinary intelligence bestowed upon him by Almighty ALLAH, AlaHadrat Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu completed his Islamic Education at the very young age of 13 years, 10 months and 5 days.

The Illustrious Teachers of Imaam Ahmad Rida

AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Anhu) gained his basic knowledge at home. He later continued his studies under the guidance of certain noted teachers. He studied under his father, Hadrat Allama Mawlana Naqi Ali Khan (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu). He completed his primary education by Janab Mirza Ghulam Qadir Baig, by whom he studied the book, "Mizaan-e-Munsha'ab." AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) also studied under the guidance of the following luminous personalities:

1. Hadrat Mawlana Abdul Ali Rampuri (Radi Allahu Anhu)
2. Shaykh al-Kabeer, Hadrat Allama Syed Shah Abul Hussain Ahmad Noori (Radi Allahu Anhu)
3. Shaykh al-Tariqah, Hadrat Allama Shah Ale Rasool Mahrahrwi (Radi Allahu Anhu)
4. Shaykh Ahmad bin Zain Dahlaan al-Makki (Radi Allahu Anhu)
5. Shaykh Abdur Rahman Makki (Radi Allahu Anhu), and
6. Shaykh Hussain bin Saleh Makki (Radi Allahu Anhu)

AlaHadrat and the Ulama of Haramain

When AlaHadrat went to perform his first HAJJ and Zyarah on the 26th of Shawwal 1295 A.H. (1876). He was only 20 years old at that time. One day, after completing his Hajj, he went to perform his Maghrib Salaah before the Maqaam-e-Ibrahim (Alaihis Salam). Having completed his Salaah, the Imam of the Shafi'ee order of Makkatul Mukarramah, Allama Hussain bin Saleh Kamaal (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu), approached him. He clutched AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) by his hand and led him to his house. The great Imam then placed his hand on the blessed forehead of AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Ta'ala Anhu) and said:

"Verily, I am observing the Noor of Almighty Allah on this forehead."

Without hesitation, he blessed AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Anhu) with the Sanad (Certificate) of Sihah Sitta (Six Compilers of Hadith: Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood, Tirmizi and Nisa'i). He also began addressing AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Anhu) by the title of "Dia al-Din" or "The Light or Splendour of Deen." The speciality of this Sanad is that it has only Eleven (11) levels to Imam Bukhari.

AlaHadrat (Radi Allahu Anhu) was also blessed with the Asnaad (Certificates) of Hadees o Fiqah, Usool o Tafseer and etc. from the Mufti of the Hanafi order in Makkatul Mukarramah, Sayyiduna Allama Abdur Rahmaan Siraaj Hanafi and Mufti of the Shafi'ee order in Makkatul Mukarramah, Mufti Shaykh Sayyad Ahmad Dahlaan Shafi'ee (Radi Allahu Anhuma).

When he went for his Second Hajj in 1323/1905, he stayed for three months in the Holy Land and constantly searched for anyone who had higher-ranking Sanad of Hadith then His Sanad of Hadith. He wanted to take it from him and elevate His existing Sanad of Hadith. But Alhamdulillah! His Sanad was the highest and everyone took Sanads from him. Shaykh Abd al-Rahmaan Dah'laan, the youngest son of Shaykh Ahmed Dah'laan and his elder brother, Shaykh Asad Dah'laan (Qaadi of Makkah at that time) both took Sanad of Hadith from him too. And Shaikh Saaleh Kamal, the most Knowledgable Scholar of Makkah at that time, though he was a senior Aalim, but he insisted in taking Sanad-e-Hadith and other Ijazah from AlaHadrat. AlaHadrat tried to evade this for a few days in respect but it was in vain. Shaikh Saaleh Kamal constantly insisted and forced AlaHadrat to issue them to him.

[karachi-Friends] Daily Qur'an & Hadith 31 Dec 2013 (27 Safar 1435)

English Translation of Al-Quran

[27].Surah Al-Naml [The Ants]

Ayat 59. Say (O Muhammad  [SAWW](PBUH) "Praise and thanks be to Allah, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allah better, or (all) that you ascribe as partners (to Him)?" (Of course, Allah is Better).

Tafseer of Surah Al Naml (The Ants) Ayat 59. Praise be to Allah, and Peace on his servants whom He has chosen (for his Message). (Who) is better?- Allah or the false gods they associate (with Him)? Allah's revelation having been described as Light, Guidance, and Mercy, we ought all to be grateful to Allah for vouchsafing His revelation. We ought also to appreciate the services of Allah's Messengers, who are chosen to deliver His Message: we ought to send salutations of Peace on them, instead of plotting, as the wicked do, for their removal or persecution, or banishment or death, for these Prophets of Allah undergo every kind of hardship and forego every kind of advantage or pleasure in life for serving mankind. And Allah is truth and goodness, and all our fancies of false worship are falsehoods and evils. Shall we prefer falsehood and evil to truth and goodness?

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Many a person with shaggy and dusty hair, dusty and driven away from doors (because of their poverty and shabby clothes) were to swear by Allah (that something would happen), Allah will certainly make it happen".

[Muslim Book # 40, Chapter 13, Hadith # 6836].

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Naml Ayat 59.“peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)” 1. One must understand the meaning of having shaggy and dusty hair and clothes does not mean it is require by Islam, obviously Islam promote neatness and cleanness also Allah (SWT) loves those who keeps themselves clean, This Hadith highlights the importance and value of those personals who may does not look very impressive in worldly sense by having very expensive clothing, due to their strong believe in life afterwards they do not spend on themselves in lavish ways and means, but there piousness and following of Sunnah with strongest of faith they have very special bounding with Allah (SWT) and therefore it they swear by him there words are honored by all means by Allah (SWT).
