Free TPS Immigration Clinic, THIS MONDAY!

Free TPS Legal Clinic

The Council on American-Islamic Relations - Florida is hosting a free legal clinic for TPS. CAIR-FL staff and volunteers will assist qualifying nationals with their applications for Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Any Syrian national or stateless person who last habitually resided in Syria who arrived in the United States on or before June 17th, 2013 and have been physically present since October 1st, 2013 should qualify for TPS (barring inadmissibility problems - such as criminal backgrounds).

Individuals who qualify for TPS may reside in the United States and obtain employment authorization for the remainder of the time period designated for TPS by the Attorney General, which currently goes through March 31, 2015 and may be extended.

For Syrians to be eligible for TPS, applications must be submitted by

December 16, 2013.

In addition,Somalian nationals who already hold TPS status may re-register before December 31, 2013

The only cost may be USCIS filing costs for TPS, which is generally $515 if one is seeking work authorization. Fee waivers may be submitted, however, for low-income applicants. If you or anyone you know are in need of assistance, feel free to stop by the office during our regular business hours.

English Translation of Al-Quran

[26].Surah Al-Naml [The Ants]

Ayat 15. And indeed Allah gave knowledge to Dawud PBUH(David) and Sulaiman PBUH(Solomon), and they both said: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has preferred us above many of His believing slaves!"

Tafseer of Surah Al Naml (The Ants) Ayat 15. We gave (in the past) knowledge to David and Solomon: And they both said: "Praise be to Allah, Who has favored us above many of his servants who believe!” "Knowledge" means such knowledge as leads up to the higher things in life, the Wisdom that was shown in their decisions and judgments, and the understanding that enabled them to fulfill their mission in life. They were both just men and prophets of Allah. The Bible, as we have it, is inconsistent: on the one hand it calls David "a man after God's own heart" (I Samuel, 13:14and Acts 13:22); and the Christians acclaim Christ as a son of David; but on the other hand, horrible crimes are ascribed to him, which, if he had committed them, would make him a monster of cruelty and injustice. About Solomon, too, while he is described as a glorious king, there are stories of his lapses into sin and idolatry. The Muslim teaching considers them both to be men of piety and wisdom, and high in spiritual knowledge. They ascribed, as was proper, their knowledge, wisdom, and power to the only true Source of all, Allah.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said, "The superiority of the learned over the devout worshipper is like my superiority over the most inferior amongst you (in good deeds).'' He [SAWW](PBUH) went on to say, "Allah, His angels, the dwellers of the heaven and the earth, and even the ant in its hole and the fish (in water) supplicate in favors of those who teach people knowledge.''

Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Naml Ayat15 “indeed Allah gave knowledge” “Alim (learned person) here means scholar of the Qur'an and Hadith is the best person to convey the Message of Allah which was sent through his Messengers, Alim is the one who adheres to Faraid and Sunnah and remains busy in learning and imparting knowledge. `Abid (devout worshipper) is one who spends most of his time in the worship of Allah. The benefit of his voluntary prayer and remembrance of Allah is restricted to his own self while the benefit of knowledge of the scholar reaches others also. Hence, of the two, the latter is far superior. If Salat is mentioned with reference to Allah, it denotes "Allah's Grace with Mercy;'' if it is mentioned with reference to the angels, it denotes "to pray for forgiveness;'' and if it is mentioned with reference to other creatures - men, animals, etc., - then it means prayer and supplication. Thus, Allah graces that person with His Mercy who teach people the beneficial knowledge, i.e., the knowledge of Islam; angels pray to Allah to forgive his (or her) sins; and other creatures pray for his (or her) well-being. In this way, this Hadith stresses the distinction of religious scholars and highlights the esteem in which they are held by Allah, His angels and His other creatures.

China's rainbow mountains

Imagine a world where the mountains are striped with candy colours and people are dwarfed by the landscape's immensity. Such a place exists in China's Northwestern Gansu Province, where 24 million years of vibrant stone and mineral deposits have created rainbow-striped mountains.

The tinted peaks were fashioned by uplift from the Earth's tectonic plates – the same ones that formed parts of the Himalayan range – while rain, wind and erosion shaped them into the jagged world seen today. Oregon's painted hills

With the hipster amenities of Portland to the west and the national wonder of Crater Lake to the south, eastern Oregon's John Day Fossil Beds often get overlooked. This 14,000 acre national park is a natural museum of geological eras, though it is the Painted Hills region that offers the most dramatic view. The spectacular landscape was shaped by numerous volcanic eruptions and extreme climate change around 35 million years ago. As time wore on, the lush vegetative climate turned more arid. Ash, clay, minerals and decaying plant matter all mixed into the soil, leaving pronounced streaks of gold, black, red – even purple and blue. Ethiopia's alien crater

In the language of the Afar people, Dallol means disintegrated. So it makes sense that Ethiopia'sDallol Volcano is less a volcano than a sunken crater. Caused by Groundwater and magma colliding, sulphur, iron oxide, salt and other minerals have created the vivid greens and neon yellows that form one of the most remote, untouched and ethereal natural rainbows in the world.

Dallol lies near the border of Eritrea in an area that was closed to foreigners until 2001. Even today it is prudent to travel with an armed guard, as border tensions persist and kidnappings have been known to happen. Because of this, only a few hundred visitors make it to this remarkable landscape every year – which is probably for the best considering the fragility of the landform, the toxic gases and the temperatures that average above 30C. Yellowstone's Grand Prismatic, named for its brilliant colouration, is the largest hot spring in the US – its 370ft diameter put into perspective by the paved walkway visible near the photo's top. The colour spectrum that ranges from deep blue to burnt red is the product of trillions of thermophiles, or bacterial microorganisms, which flourish in hot waters. Different temperatures determine the hue, and the centre's blue is the result of extreme heat that leaves the bacteria sterile. Light up the night in Iceland
