غزل

ہم سے تسخیر مقدر کے ستارے نہ ہوۓ
زندگی آپ تھے اور آپ ہمارے نہ ہوۓ

پھر بتاؤ بھلا کس پہ ستم ڈھاؤ گے
شہر ِ الفت میں جب درد کے مارے نہ ہوۓ

زرد آنکھوں سے مری ہجر کے موتی برسیں
یہ بھی کیا کم ہے کہ محبت میں خسارے نہ ہوۓ

سچ تو یہ ہے کہ بنا اس کے گزارا جیون
اور یہ بھی سچ ہے کہ بنا اس کے گزارے نہ ہوۓ

اس لیۓ اپنا ملن ہو بھی نہیں سکتا تھا
ایک دریا کے کبھی دونوں کنارے نہ ہوۓ

ٹوٹ جاتے ہیں سبھی پیار کے رشتے امجد
کچے دھاگے تو کسی کے بھی سہارے نہ ہوۓ
