[PF:166012] Fazl urges India to withdraw mly from IHK

Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Wednesday urged India to withdraw its army and revoke Prevention of Terrorist Activities Act (POTA) from Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

Fazl expressed these views while talking to Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front, Yasin Malik, who is on his visit to Pakistan. Other Kashmiri leaders Rafiq Dar and Rafiq Haroon were also present on the occasion.

Fazl assured Kashmiri leadership that Pakistan would continue its political, diplomatic and moral support to the freedom movement for the right to self-determination.

While briefing on latest situation in IHK, Yasin Malik said that there was no decrease in the state terrorism by the Indian security forces in the Occupied Kashmir. The Kashmiris are being killed and thousands have been detained, he added.

Malik said that despites state terrorism the people of Kashmir, specially the youth, were determined and giving sacrifices for freedom.

He applauded the contribution of Pakistani people for the Kashmir Movement. Kashmiri have a lot of respect for the Pakistan and expect that Pakistan will highlight Kashmir issue on international forums more effectively, Malik added.

Fazl said that Kashmiris were fighting for their right to self-determination, which was their fundamental right. World community is aware of human rights violations in the IHK, he added. "Hearts of Pakistanis pulsate with the hearts of the Kashmiris and we won't leave them alone," Fazl added.

While talking to TheNation Chairman JKLF Yasin Malik said that detailed discussions were made on Kashmir issue in the meeting. "We need to institutionalise the Kashmir committee so that Pakistani and Kashmir leaders could discuss ifs and buts before getting into dialogue with India," he added

"Kashmir is not a dispute of boundary between India and Pakistan. Four generations have irrigated the Kashmir movement with their blood. We want result-oriented talks on Kashmir and this could be possible with the joint stance of Kashmiri and Pakistani leaderships," he added.

To a question he said that Ghulam Nabi Fai has been fighting for Kashmiris on diplomatic front. He is non-violent person and believes in peaceful solution of Kashmir. "I request Obama administration, US congressmen and US think tanks to play their role in release of Ghulam Nabi Fai," he added.
