The Florida House of Representatives just passed HB351, the anti-Muslim bill, by a vote of 79 to 39. HB351 is identical to the Senate version SB58. In order for this bill to become law it must now pass a final committee in the Senate before going to the senate floor for a final vote. If SB 58 makes it to the Florida Senate floor, it will pass. Our liberties and faith(s) are under attack in Florida, we need EVERYONE around the nation to help us defeat this bill. Regardless of where you live, you can help. THIS IS NOW OUR LAST CHANCE TO DEFEAT SB 58. IF WE GENERATE ENOUGH PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS TO LAWMAKERS OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS, WE CAN KILL THIS BILL. CAN WE COUNT ON YOUR HELP? Senate bill 58 is an anti-Muslim bill originally drafted by Arizona lawyer David Yerushalmi, a known anti-Muslim racist. Yerushalmi has called Islam the enemy and has called for the deportation of Muslims. Yerushalmi, makes the irrational claim that Islamic law is an imminent threat to the United States and that's why he drafted the anti-Shariah legislation. Senate bill 58 would ban courts from applying or even considering foreign "Islamic law" and/or international laws in family law disputes. While the bill's supporters intended to target Muslims, it would also impact Jews and other religious minorities. To learn more about the bill click here.
