ISLAMABAD: The suspicious death of NAB's investigation officer, Kamran Faisal has raised many questions in between the hearing of Rental power case in Supreme court.
The postmortem report suggested that he committed a suicide however the family, friends and colleagues denied the reports saying that they have seen torture marks on Kamran's body.
Abdul Hamid, the father of deceased National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Assistant Director, Kamran Faisal said that his son did not commit suicide but murdered.
Talking to media he appealed for justice and demanded a judicial inquiry into the murder of his son.
Meanwhile, the colleagues for Kamran also demanded a fair inquiry saying that Kamran Faisal was under severe pressure.
"Kamran would do anything but not commit suicide. That's something we know for sure. He was killed. And there was no doubt about it" added a friend.
Today, Aaj news reported that AC Secretariat will record the statements of victims' friend and family to further investigate the incident.
Inspector General Islamabad Police said Faisal's death appeared to be a suicide. Senior police officer Binyamin said that the body of Kamran Faisal was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at a government dorm.
His death came days after the Supreme Court ordered the arrest of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and 15 others in connection with an old corruption case the officer was investigating.
The prime minister was implicated in the case when he was minister of water and power. At the time, he oversaw the import of short-term power stations that cost the government millions of dollars but produced little energy.
Kamran Faisal was among two officials who had been suspended for recommending to Director General of NAB Rawalpindi Col (retd) Subeh Sadiq that he should submit references against the accused in the two RPP cases to the NAB's head office; a bureau official had told the Supreme Court last week.
