WebSphere Administrator
Location: New York City, NY
Duration: 6+ Months

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of installing, administering and maintaining IBM WebSphere application servers 6.0/6.1/ 7.0/8.0 in a Linux environment.
Strong experience in maintenance of http web servers/load balancers.
Experience in deploying web based application in a clustering environment.
Experience with performance testing of web application to determine memory utilization, GC for WebSphere application servers / web server.
Ability to do performance tuning of WebSphere app server(s)/web server(s) environment. Provide solutions to resolve out of memory issues.
JVM (Java Virtual Machine) heap tuning.
Ability to code in one or more scripting languages such as JACL/Jython, shell scripting, Perl.
Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability
Work with teammates and other teams to identify and address systems problems.
Perform incident and problem resolution
Administer IBM WebSphere portal.
Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of SuSe or RedHat Linux servers.
 Ability to generate reports and troubleshoot system performance
Ability to research open source technologies
Excellent interpersonal relations, communications, people skills and a self-starter
