[PF:166596] If Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and six Sawm of the Shawwal are done together in one Niah (one and the same intention), then only the fasting for Rwamadwan shall be accepted

Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Stated, "An individual doing an additional six Sawm (fasting) during the month of Shawwal after observing the Sawm of Rwamadwan Shareef is like fasting throughout the year." SubhanAllah! Doing six Sawm in Shawwal is a genuine Sunnah and reasons for endless benefits. If Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and those six of the Shawwal are done together in one Niah (one and the same intention), then only the fasting for Rwamadwan shall be accepted and not the Sunnah fasting of the Shawwal. This is authentic and Shariah-supporting verdict. Those proclaiming Fatwa and holding opinions contrary to this are baffled and derailed.

- Mujaddidu A'zam Hazrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul 'Aalee

Prime Point of Allah's attention, Imam and Mujtahid of the age, Imaamul Aimmah, Qutwubul A'alam, Awladur Rwasool, Habeebullah, Mamduh Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee of Rajarbagh Dorbar Shareef, Dhaka said, 'Allah Pak Dictates in Hadis-e-Qudsi Shareef that, "Through observing Nawfil or Sunnah, people acquire the closeness of Mine". Doing six Sawm in the month of sacred Shawwal is a genuine Sunnah and reasons for endless rewards. Hadis Shareef refers, Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Stated, "An individual doing an additional six Sawm (six days of fasting) during the month of Shawwal after observing the Sawm of Rwamadwan Shareef is like fasting throughout the year." SubhanAllah!

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "Out of ignorance and stubbornness, some try to convince that, the Kaza Sawm (left out fasting) of the Rwamadwan Shareef and the Sawm of Shawwal may be done together in one Niah (intention)." Na'uzubillah!

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "Basically this statement of theirs is totally flawed, self-made and not supported by any documents. The true and acceptable Fatwa in this regard is: If the left out Sawm of Rwamadwan and the Sawm for Shawwal are done together, then the Kaza will be cleared but not the Shawwal (Sunnah fasting of the month).

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "If women failed to observe certain Sawm or someone failed to observe some owing to illness or being on journey, they must (Far'd) make it up later in the other months other than Rwamadwan Shareef. Allah Pak Dictated in the Qur'an Shareef, "But if anyone is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later". (Sura Al-Baqara, Ayat Shareef 185). And observing six days of fasting during the month of Shawwal is Sunnah which is a reason for much of rewards. In this regard, Hadis Shareef has the reference that, "An individual, after observing the Sawm of Rwamadwan Shareef, doing an additional six days of fasting during the month of Shawwal is like fasting throughout the year." SubhanAllah! (Muslim Shareef, Sharhe Nababi, Fathul Mulheem).

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "Making up of the left over fasting of Rwamadwan Shareef is Far'd as has been established through Qur'an Shareef and fasting for six days in Shawwal is Sunnah or Mustahab which is established by Hadis Shareef. It is mentionable that if Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and Sunnah fasting of the Shawwal are done together in one Niah on a same day, then only the Kaza (making up) fasting for Rwamadwan shall be accepted and not the Sunnah or Mustahab fasting of the Shawwal."

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "In this regard, references are there in Fatwa-e-Alamgiri, vol 1, page 197, that, 'if in the same fasting, a Kaza of the Rwamadwan Shareef and a Nawfil of Shawwal or any other month is done together (on the same day), then only the Kaza for Rwamadwan shall be considered as done (not the Nawfil)."

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "For the Kaza fasting of Rwamadwan Shareef, even if a 'Mannat' (desired) fasting is done with that, yet the Kaza shall only be taken, let alone Nawfil fasting of Shawwal. For example, references in Fatwa-e-Alamgiri, vol 1, page 196 refers that, 'If some one doing Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and a 'Mannat' fasting on the same day, then, as 'Istehsaan' (priority), only the Kaza for Rwamadwan shall be accepted'. Similarly, if someone intends (Niah) to do the 'kaffaara' (recompense) fasting for 'zwihar' (swearings) along with the Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan, his Kaza shall be only considered as done ,recompense for 'zwihar' will not be taken.

Also there in Fatwa-e-Alamgiri, vol 1, page 197, that, 'if some one doing Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and a 'kaffaara' fasting for 'zwihar' (recompense fasting for swearings made), then, as 'Istehsaan' (priority), only the Kaza for Rwamadwan shall be accepted'.

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "If two fasting of the same status is intended on the same day, none will be considered as done but will turn to be a 'Nawfil' one. Like, if a Kaza of Rwamadwan and a fasting for the recompense of a killing or a fasting for zwihar' and a fasting for the recompense of a killing is done on the same day, none shall be deemed as done but will become a Nawfil fasting. In the book 'Fatwa-e-Hindia', vol 2, page 7 refers that, 'If anyone intends to have fasting on the same day for the kaffaara' for 'zwihar' (recompense fasting for swearings made) and a fasting for the recompense of a killing or that he intends to do it for Kaza of Rwamadwan Shareef and a recompense of a killing, then, according to the unison of opinion of all, the fasting shall turn to be a Nawfil one."

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "Out of two fasting, the one greater in dignity and importance, shall be deemed as done, not the other one. For example, Kaza fasting for Rwamadwan and Nawfil fasting of Shawwal or other months or for that matter, a fixed 'Mannat' and 'Nawfil' fasting of other nature, if done together on the same day, the Kaza one or that fixed "Mannat' one shall be considered as done but the Nawfil one will not be taken. Also in this respect, Fatwa-e-Alamgiri, vol 1, page 196, mentions that, 'When two fasting of equal status is intended within the same fasting which are Far'd and of significance, then if one of them do not get preference over the other by importance and weight but both remains at par, then both the fasting shall be considered as nullified. And when out of two, one gets the preference from dignity and status point of view, then the preferred one shall be accepted."

Mujaddide A'azwam Hajrat Murshid Qibla Mudda Zilluhul A'alee says, "The gist is: If the six Sawm of Shawwal and Kaza for Rwamadwan is intended together, then the Kaza for Rwamadwan Shareef shall be accepted; the Sunnah fasting of Shawwal shall not be taken. This is authentic and Shariah-supporting verdict. Those proclaiming Fatwa and holding opinions contrary to this are baffled, derailed and are Kazzab (liars) of the lowest order. And La'anat (curses) of Allah Pak on the liars!"
