Dear all,  

 

Attached is our monthly Monetary Watch assessing indicators released by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) for the month of May. Key findings include:  

 

*Private sector loan growth records a healthy 7.1% YoY growth; the highest monthly rise this year.

 

*Foreign assets hit a fresh record of SR 1,802.5 ($480.6 billion) due to higher oil revenues.

 

*M3 growth witnesses a slight decline of 0.06% MoM; YoY broad money supply is up 16%.

 

*The value of point of sale (POS) transactions falls after two straight months of rises, but remains higher than previous months due to increased spending power.
