FREE MEDICAL and DENTAL EXAMS on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS

Asalamu Alaykum (Peace be onto you),  Muslims Without Borders-Dental Relief, Red Crescent, and Project Downtown are reaching out to invite you to our Tampa Health Day. With the increasing premium of insurance companies, the current number of uninsured people is expected to rise as well. About 18% of Tampa's population is uninsured. With inadequate services and a lack of support to those who cannot afford health insurance, we have organized a free health day for the community for those who are unable to access the necessary services required for proper health care. The basic medical and dental services that are essential will be provided, along with workshops to educate community members on how to live a healthy life. We hope this would be the first of many, setting a precedent for similar future events. more and more people are left without health insurance, many people are unable to access to the basic services that are essential to every day health.  We have joined hands with Red Crescent Clinic and Project Downtown-Tampa to adequately facilitate the event to provide the best services we can from doctors and dentists within our own community. Below are details for the types of tests that will be conducted. When: Saturday February 23, 2013 (9am-12pm) Where: ISTABA Mosque             7326 E. Sligh Avenue             Tampa, FL 33610 Medical:  Cholesterol Tests Diabetic Sugar Tests Women's Health Workshops  Basic Vision and Glaucoma Tests Basic Heart and Lung Exams  *** (Follow up visits can be scheduled upon request) *** Dental:  Extractions Basic X-Rays *** (Follow up for advanced procedures can be scheduled upon request) *** The ultimate goal of this event is to provide the entire community access to medical and dental services every human should receieve. We ask for your support by spreading the word and letting your family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and anyone else that may require these services. Registration beings PROMPTLY at 9am and the event ends at 12pm.  PLEASE NOTE: Due to time and resources restrictions, this is on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis and we will only be able to take in about 70-75 people.  During this time we will also have various workshops in place such as:  Women's Health Diet and Exercise  and more!
