1) International Funding for NGOs to Submit Projects on Democratic Participation through ICTs

An international funding agency is calling for project proposals from NGOs, research and media organizations on democratic participation and freedom of expression through internet-based and other communication technologies.

Organizations from Pakistan are eligible to apply for this funding opportunity.

Available funding is approximately US$ two million.

Last date to apply is 12 October 2012.

2) Grants Announced for NGOs in Pakistan to Submit Projects on Information & Communication Technologies for Girls & Women

An international funding agency is soliciting proposals from civil society organisations including non-governmental organisations, networks of NGOs, public and private sector agencies or foundations in Pakistan for projects that will support access of girls and women to information and communication technologies.

Deadline for application is in early October 2012.

3) - For 18 - 35 Years Youth - Call for Participation in International Conference in Austria

An international agency has announced call for participation for youth between the age of 18 and 35 years.

More than 150 youth from around the world will be selected and invited to participate in the conference to be held in February 2013.

The conference will enable participants to share ideas on how to promote peace and social harmony among communities.

All selected youth participants will be provided with round-trip international ticket to Vienna (most direct route, economy class) and accommodation once in Vienna. Meals and coffee breaks will be provided during the official programme.

Young men and women from Pakistan, working in any youth-focused organization are eligible to apply for participation in the conference. 

Last date to apply is 25 October 2012.

4) - One Year Fully Paid Fellowship in Germany for Environment Protection - Pakistani Students are Eligible to Apply

An international foundation working on environment protection issues has released a call for applications to select fifteen young candidates for its one year fully paid scholarship in Germany. Eligible candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree along with substantial leadership experience in environment conservation initiatives. 

 

Last date to apply is October 25, 2012.

5) - US$ 50,000 grants available for capacity building of environment journalists - Pakistani journalists are eligible to apply

An international organization is calling for projects that are aimed at building networks of environmental journalists (whether existing or prospective networks). 

Projects that use innovative methods to build networks or distribute environmental news will also be favorably viewed.

The organization intends to award five grants of approximately US$ 10,000 in 2012. 

Last date to apply is 12 October 2012.

6) - Grants Available for Cultural Journalists to Participate in International Seminar

Deadline: Early October 2012

Journalists from around the world including journalists from Pakistan, who are covering music, literature and popular culture; are being invited to apply for grants to participate in a global seminar in 2013.
There are twenty sponsorships available for cultural journalists. 

Interested journalists must fill out the online registration form and attach an autobiography, between 400 and 800 words (in English, Spanish or Portuguese), a letter of support that certifies employment, and a piece of reportage or other article of authorship.

Only online registration is valid, made via the registration form on the website.
