Two-year-old boy abducted from Ajmer Dargah area
Aug 4, 2012, 08.36PM IST AJMER: A two-year-old boy was allegedly abducted by an unidentified man from Dargah area in the city today. Nafisa, hailing from Nagpur, had come here for Ziyarat in the holy shrine of revered saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti three days back, police said.
During her stay, she befriended a man who told her he also belonged to Nagpur.
Today, the woman went to fetch food for the kid leaving him with the man in Dargah market, police said. When she returned, there was no trace of the boy and the man, they said.
A case had been registered and a hunt launched for the man, police said.
Last month, a young married woman had abducted a six-month-old boy from Dargah premises. She and her husband were later arrested and the boy was rescued.
What does the Quran/Hadees say about visiting Dargahs
1. Travelling with the Intention of Sawab/Pilgrimage
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah who said: 'I met Basrah ibn Abi Basrah al-Ghifaari and he asked me, 'Where are you coming from?' I said, 'From al-Toor [Sinai].' He said, 'If I had met you before you left, you would not have gone there! I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: 'Do not travel except to three mosques.'" (Reported by Ahmad and others with a saheeh isnaad)
2. Prohibition of making Graves as places of Worship
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "May Allaah curse the Jews and the Christians, for they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship." (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 435; Muslim, 529)
And it was narrated from Ibn Mas'ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Among the most evil of people upon whom the Hour will come when they are still alive are those who take graves as places of worship." Narrated by Imam Ahmad with a jayyid isnaad.
((Indeed those before you used to take the graves of their Prophets' and pious people as places of worship, so do not take the graves as places of worship, for certainly I prohibit you from that)), transmitted by Muslim in his Saheeh.
3. Prohibition of sitting on Graves and/or praying towards them
It was narrated that Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do not sit on graves, or pray towards them." (Narrated by Muslim, 972).
4. Prohibition of building Graves with permanent structures
Muslim (969) narrated that Abu'l-Hayaaj al-Asadi said: 'Ali ibn Abi Taalib said to me: "Shall I not send you with the same instructions as the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent me? 'Do not leave any image without defacing it or any built-up grave without leveling it.'"
5. Prophet (SAW) prohibited us from taking his Grave at place of Worship
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Do not take your houses as graves and do not take my grave as a place of festivity (which you visit repeatedly). Send blessings upon me for your greeting will reach me no matter where you are." Narrated by Abu Dawood, 2042; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami', 7226
6. Grave Worship
'A'isha and Abdullah reported: As the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) was about to breathe his last, he drew his sheet upon his face and when he felt uneasy, he uncovered his face and said in that very state: Let there be curse upon the Jews and the Christians that they have taken the graves of their Prophets as places of worship. He in fact warned (his men) against what they (the Jews and the Christians) did. [Sahih Muslim, The Book of Prayer (04), Chapter: Forbiddance to build mosques on the graves and decorating them with pictures and forbiddance to use the graves as mosques, No. 1082]
Jundub reported: I heard from the Prophet of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) five days before his death and he said: I stand acquitted before Allaah that I took any one of you as friend, for Allaah has taken me as His friend, as he took Ibrahim as His friend. Had I taken any one of my Ummah as a friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a friend.BEWARE of those who preceded you and used to take the graves of their prophets and righteous men as places of worship, but YOU MUST NOT take graves as mosques; I FORBID YOU to do that. [Sahih Muslim, The Book of Prayer (04), Chapter: Forbiddance to build mosques on the graves and decorating them with pictures and forbiddance to use the graves as mosques, No. 1083]
7. Dead persons do not hear
Verily, you cannot make the dead to hear nor can you make the deaf to hear the call (i.e. benefit them and similarly the disbelievers), when they flee, turning their backs. (Naml, 27:80)
Nor are (alike) the living (i.e. the believers) and the dead (i.e. the disbelievers). Verily, Allâh makes whom He wills to hear, but you cannot make hear those who are in graves. (Fatir, 35:22)
Those whom they (Al-Mushrikûn) invoke besides Allâh have not created anything, but are themselves created. (They are) dead, not alive; and they know not when they will be raised up. (Nahl, 16:20, 21)
