[PF:169596] Sacred Lailatul Baraat

Sacred Lailatul Baraat:

'Shab-e-Baraat' has been described as the 'Lailatum Mubarwaka' or 'the night of blessings' in Sura Ad-Dukhan in the Qur'an Shareef. And in Hadis Shareef, it has been known as the 'Lailatun Nisfi min Sha'baan', meaning the 'night of the (month of) mid Sha'baan which is the night after the 14th (day) of Sha'baan. This is what is popularly known as the 'Shab-e-Baraat' throughout the world. For the Muslims, it is a great night of supplications being granted, a night of getting pardoned or salvation, a night of Tawbah being granted, night for getting relieved from plights and predicaments and a night for the disposal of life and livelihood for (next) one year.

Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Declared, "Certainly there are five very confirmed nights that supplications are sure to be granted on those. Those are, the first night of Rajab, the night after 14th of Sha'baan, night of the Qadr and two nights preceding the two Eids. Therefore, in these blessed and blissful nights, whatever amount of supplications is done with firm beliefs, those are sure to be approved by Allah!

Importance:

The importance, significance, benefits and blessings of Shab-e-Baraat is beyond descriptions. This is a unique night that all sorts of (virtuous) supplications are sure to be granted. Those five special nights as narrated in the Hadis Shareef, this 'Baraat' night is one significant among them. This is the very night that "Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments. Therefore, it is essential for every Mu'minin and Muslim do Ibadah and devotion, do Tawbah and Istighfaar and fast during next day on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat. That speaks of the highest importance of Shab-e-Baraat in Islam.

Allah Pak Dictates in Qur'an Shareef (Sura Ad-Dukhan, Ayat Shareef 3-5), "We sent it (this Qur'an Shareef) down on a blessed night. Verily, We are ever warning. On behalf of Me, under My directions, disposal of all sorts weighty and vital issues are made this night. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers)." In the 3rd Ayat Shareef, the word 'Lailatum Mubarwaka' means the 'Lailatun Nisfi min Sha'baan', meaning the 'night of (the month of mid) Sha'baan which is the Shab-e-Baraat. All the famous books on Tafsir have the same version.

Book of one of the 'Siha Sittah' Hadis Shareef, called 'Sahih Ibn Mazah Shareef' refers, narrated by Hajrat 'A'alee RwadiAllahu Ta'ala Anhu, Who said, Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Declares, "When 'Night of Mid Sha'baan' that is Shab-e-Baraat arrives, offer more and more Swalat that night and go fasting the next day. Verily that night, Allah Pak Comes down to the skies of this earth (providing exclusive blessings), after the sunset and then Declares "Is there anyone among you asking for pardons? I shall pardon him. Any aspirant for rizq (livelihood)? I shall grant him rizq. Anybody in troubles? I waive off his plights." Allah keeps inquiring this way till Swubhi Swadique (dawn)." (Ibn Mazah Shareef, Tirmizee Shareef, Mishkat Shareef, Mirqat Shareef, Lum'at, Ash'atul Lum'at).

It is mentioned in Hadis Shareef, about the fasting in the month Sha'baan, "Allah Pak shall waive off that individual's sins one who shall be fasting three days in the month of Sha'baan". SubhanAllah! Those who desire to fast for three days, i.e., 13, 14 and 15 Sha'baan may do it, on the 16th, 17th and 18th July this year, those are Saturday, Sunday and the Monday. And if three days not possible, then one may at least make one fasting on the day after Shab-e-Baraat, which is 15th of Sha'baan. Hadis Shareef, in this regard, refers, "Hell fire shall not touch him who did fast on the 15th of Sha'baan."

Amol (Duty):

Saiyidul Mursaalin, Imaamul Mursaalin, Huzur Pak Swallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam Declares, "Whenever you are up with the 'Night of Baraat', wake up the whole night, offer more and more Swalat and Salaam, do more supplications and Tawbah and go fasting the next day. Verily that night, Allah Pak Comes down to the skies of this earth (providing exclusive blessings), keeps inquiring till Swubhi Swadique (dawn), "Is there anyone among you asking for pardons? I shall pardon him. Any aspirant for rizq (livelihood)? I shall grant him rizq. Anybody in troubles? I wave off his plights." (SubhanAllah!)

Therefore, if people do khalisTawbah-Istighfar (sincerely repenting with promise of not repeating any sins), Allah Pak shall definitely forgive him and bestow upon all blessings, benefits and peace on him. Verily, Allah Pak Declared in the Qur'an Shareef, "Do not get upset from the Rwa'hmat of Allah Pak. Verily Allah shall waive off all the possible sins for Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving." That means, in order to pardon someone, Allah, Does not take in to cognizance his dignity or status but simply on any excuse, pardons people out of benevolence.

Therefore it would be pertinent for every Muslim to celebrate this occasion with great pomp and splendour through immense devotion, adoration and aspirations. And it would be the duty and responsibility of the government of all Muslim and non-Muslim governments of the world to declare 3 days compulsory holidays (i.e., 13, 14 & 15 Sha'baan) on the occasion so that Muslims may celebrate this night of endless blessings and gifts with ease and go for fasting the next day. Also that the government extends all out cooperation and patronization in order to celebrate the Shab-e-Baraat.
