(1) Fellowships in European Country for Pakistani Journalists & Broadcasters
An international development agency is offering fellowships in a European country for Journalists, Broadcasters, Programme makers and managers working in the media sector around the world, including Pakistan.
Journalists and broadcasters from all over Pakistan are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
The programme supports journalists, programme-makers, broadcast trainers and managers from around the world who are looking to develop their media skills, but do not have enough financial means to pay for the costs of the course of their choice.
The fellowships would be in the field of social media and multi media journalism.
Number of fellowships that can be supported is small.
Last date to apply is 15 July 2012.

(2) US$ 300,000 Funding Available for Research Projects on Poverty and Violence in Urban Areas
An international funding agency is looking for projects from research organizations in South Asia including Pakistan to provide grants of upto US$ 300,000.
Proposed projects should address connections between violence in urban areas or cities and its impact on poor populations.
Last date to submit proposal for this funding opportunity is 15th August 2012.

(3) US$ 500,000-20,00,000 Grants available for Human Rights Initiatives
An international funding agency is inviting concept notes from human-rights activists and organizations to provide grants ranging from amounts equivalent to US$ 500,000 to 20,00,000 per project.
Deadline to submit concept notes for this opportunity is 10 July 2012.

(4) Call for Expressions of Interest for Training Organizations/Firms
An international development agency working in Pakistan is calling for Expressions of Interest from qualified training organizations/firms for professional training services to its elections support initiative. The organization/firm must have the capacity to undertake around 400 workshops simultaneously for selected provinces and districts.
Closing date for submitting a complete pre-qualification application form is July 3rd, 2012 before 16:00 hours.
(5) US$ 100, 000 award - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
An international human rights organization has announced US$ 100, 000 award for one organization or individual that has made significant contributions to the advancement of democracy or human rights through peaceful means in Asia. Nominations are open till June 30, 2012.
