Fasih: Interpol issues Red Corner Notice

New Delhi: His name is Fasih Mehmood. He is 28 years old. His height is 1.7 meter. Colour of hair and eyes is black. He is wanted by India for various offences including Terrorism, Crimes involving the use of weapons/explosives. If you have any information about this person please contact your local or national police.
Interpol on Thursday issued Red Corner Notice to arrest Fasih Mehmood and put these details on its website.
However, his family and media reports say the man has been detained by Saudi Police on the request of Indian authorities well 17 days ago. Only Wednesday, the Supreme Court of India issued notice to central government and four state governments to produce Fasih while hearing his wife Nikhat Perween's habeas corpus petition. The apex court has sought response by Friday noon (tomorrow).
Fasih belongs to Barasamela village in Darbhanga of Bihar. Four from his village and a dozen youths from his district have been picked in last six months in different terror cases.

New Delhi : The central government Thursday denied media reports that Fasih Mehmood, an Indian engineer working in Saudi Arabia, was in its custody.
"The media reports are wrong... he is not in the custody of Indian intelligence agencies... the police of Delhi and Karnataka want the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) to approach the Interpol to locate him," Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters here.
He said Mehmood could be in Saudi Arabia.
The Supreme Court had Tuesday issued notice to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs regarding the disappearance of Mehmood.
He was allegedly picked up by the members of the National Investigative Agency on May 13 and is missing ever since.
Mehmood's wife, Nikhat Parveen, had approached the apex court.
Media reports said Mehmood was deported to India on alleged terror charges but he never reached India
