Some secularists in Pakistan are still trying to interpret Jinnah as a secularist based on two arguments. One was his statement in the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan. He said that Hindus will no more be Hindus and Muslims no more Muslims. Both will be treated as equal citizens of Pakistan irrespective of their religion. This statement cannot be interpreted that Jinnah wanted Pakistan to be a secular state. It rather means that in an Islamic state, all citizens will be treated as equals in respect of fundamental rights irrespective of their religion.
Secondly, all secularists have quoted a reference from Justice Munir's book. He wrote that Jinnah gave interview to a journalist, Campbell, that Pakistan will be a secular state. A Pakistani lady tried to find out that original interview referred to by Justice Munir. She could not find it on the date and place referred by Munir. There was no existance of any such interview. However, she found it out on a different date in a separate location. She was surprised to find that Jinnah never spoke any such thing about Pakistan to become a secular state. She wrote a book and published it from London that Justice Munir had lied. There was no such statement by Jinnah anywhere at any place. On the other hand there are hundreds of Jinnah statements about Pakistan to be an Islamic state and not a secular one.
Imran Khan of PTI has declared that he will make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state, if he wins elections. All religious parties in Pakistan, including Jamaat-e-Islami also want the same. Shariah will be and shall be the final end for Pakistan to bring about true democracy, peace, prosperity, justice, equality and tolerance. The model shall be the period of first four Caliphs of the first Islamic state in Medina. Nawaz Sharif also presented a Shariah Bill during his regime. But the Bill was not passed due to shortage of one single vote.
Since the inception of Pakistan until today, secularists have succeeded to shut out Shariah in a Muslim country like Pakistan. We have won freedom from colonial Britain and from the brute majority of Hindus in India in the form of a Muslim Pakistan. But so far Islamists have failed and secularists have succeeded. It is not only a matter of shame. it is the root cause of all economic and other evils and troubles like corruption and also the root cause of natural disasters like floods etc. As we have not fulfilled our promise to Allah regarding enforcement of Sharia after getting freedom and after achieving Pakistan, He is punishing us.
