CAIR Florida Welcomes DOJ and State Prosecutor's Criminal Investigation. State Prosecutor Jeff Aston receives DOJ Investigation Report and Begins State Review (TAMPA, FL, 8/8/13) - The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL), welcomes the state prosecutor's official review of the Todashev shooting by the FBI. CAIR-FL has learned that there are active criminal investigations into the agents responsible for the shooting of the unarmed Orlando Muslim killed by FBI agents. "For all those seeking transparency, clarity and accountability from our government, and the who have faith in the rule of law, this is a welcomed step in the right direction. CAIR-FL hopes the state prosecutor's review will shed light as to why an unarmed Florida resident was shot multiple times during interrogation by federal agents in his home. We have faith that the justice system will ensure that any wrong doing on behalf of the agents and agencies involved will be successfully prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law to ensure no officials feel they are above the law, and that all officers abide by the highest standards to keep our nation both free and secure."
